Lost and Founds Pets

We at Traci's Paws know how devastating it can be to lose your pet. Sometimes, pets get out from being curious to check out what's on the other side of the fence, or they are spooked and run away from fireworks during a holiday event.

For those in need, our partners at the San Diego Humane Society offer invaluable resources on what to do if you've lost your pet, or found someone else's.

As a pet owner, you play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of your pet. Keeping them secure inside and following these tips can significantly increase the chances of finding your lost pet:

1. Ensure your pet's information and contact information are updated on the collar, ID tag, and with the microchip company.

2. Know where your pet's microchip information is, the company's contact number, and your pet's microchip number.

3. Need a microchip? Get one!

4. Make sure your pet's collar is on and on correctly. Use the 2-finger rule, then test to ensure it will not slip over your cat or dog's head.

If your pet accidentally gets outside and does run away, here are ways you can try to recover your furry best friend or what to do if you find a lost pet.

Wishing you the very best with any lost and found pets.
